Kangaroos in the back paddock…

I live in suburbia, well Australian coastal suburbia, which is probably vastly different from suburbia elsewhere.
On one side of my house, cars and people pass on the street.
On the other side, it is kangaroos who pass by.
The houses on my side of the street back onto natural bushland and within, a family of kangaroos reside. They roam from property to property as there are no fences between each.
I find their presence unique and beautiful, we share a space peacefully and happily.
This morning as Stanley and I watched them graze, I noticed a new addition, a young joey now makes them a family of four.
Please excuse the image quality…

  1. Hahaha this is hilarious! I have a brother-in-law who is from Australia and he always talks about how Kangaroos are everywhere there, and in some cases there are so many of them that they become a common roadkill… It made me sad, but apparently there’s enough of them there for that to happen, haha! Thanks for sharing this though. πŸ™‚

    • Hi Kyle, they’re not everywhere as such, and the road kill you speak of only occurs in the outback areas i.e Northern Territory. The Sunshine Coast, where I live, whilst considered suburbia is certainly not Sydney or Melbourne, where kangaroos are only found in zoos.
Thanks for stopping by and I’m glad you enjoyed… πŸ™‚ http://www.visitsunshinecoast.com.au/
